Ingredients:
1 Ribeye steak, approximately 1.5 inches thick
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Directions:
1. Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
2. Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper.
3. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
4. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
5. Reduce the heat to low and add butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet.
6. Spoon the melted butter and herbs over the steak repeatedly for about 2 minutes.
7. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
