Ingredients :
• 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
• 3 tablespoons butter
• 3 tablespoons flour
• 1 1⁄2cups milk
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 dash cayenne pepper
• 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
• 1⁄2 cup grated cheese, to sprinkle on top
Directions :
In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour. Let's sit for a minute.
Add all the cold milk and beat with a mixer. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer the sauce until smooth and boiling, stirring occasionally with a whisk.
Reduce heat and stir cheese. Place half of the sliced potatoes in a lightly greased 1 liter casserole dish.
Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes. Repeat with the second layer of potato and cheese sauce.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Put some paprika on top for extra color. Bake at 350°F for about 1 hour
