INGREDIENTS:
3 TBSP of cornstarch
1/2 TSP salt
1/2 TSP baking soda
1 cold stick of butter (1/2 cup)
6 TBSP of granulated sugar
6 TBSP brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 TSP of vanilla extract
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. About 10-11 oz (or 1/2 a bag if you want less chocolate)
1/4 cup of walnut pieces (optional)
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 475°
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking
In a smaller mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda
Cut the butter sticks into small pieces (as shown in the video)
In larger mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract
Gently whisk the dry ingredients (flour, cornstarch, salt, etc.) into a larger bowl (as shown in the video) along with the butter/egg/sugar mixture.
Add chocolate chips and optional walnuts. Mix gently until fully combined
Using a large spoon (tbsp), shape the cookie dough into balls and place on a baking sheet
Bake for 6-7 minutes or until the tops of the cookies are golden brown (keep an eye on them :)
Remove from oven and cool (they will continue to cook inside as they cool)
Eat the softest cookies, while they are warm and not completely cooled
